We had no hesitation in asking Justin to sell our late mother's house in Cammeray. He had been her choice of agents for many years and they had formed a friendly relationship, with Justin visiting or telephoning her every now and then. We also went to him because he knows Cammeray having sold a number of houses in Cairo Street recently, including the adjoining semi to Mum's.
From the outset Justin was very attentive and respectful of Mum and what she wanted. I remember him saying that she was lovely lady and that he was determined to get the best price for her. His advice about marketing and going to auction was spot on. He advised a quick sale by auction to take advantage of the current market and a sale prior to Melbourne Cup day. As well he recommended some cosmetic improvements including new carpets and painting. We were a little sceptical about one suggestion, using a stylist to furnish the house but he convinced us that this would be a good move and result in a higher sale price. And he was right.
After a short three week campaign the property sold for $2 million, way above our expectations.
